Boys Bedroom Furniture

There is a long standing misconception that Boy’s don’t care one way or the other, about what kind of bedroom furniture they have. They usually won’t tell you what they like and don’t like when it comes to style, and fashion. But, they do care. Their bedroom is the ‘Sanctuary’. They care what their sanctuary looks like, and how they feel when their in their bedroom.

Boy’s do take pride in how their bedroom looks. They generally like darker, yet neutral colors. Get them involved in the decision process. You will be glad you did. The real key here is that if you don’t ask them, they won’t tell you. 

When it comes to bedroom furniture, take inventory of what your son actually needs in his room. Typically, bedroom furniture for a boy includes a bed, dresser, and a nightstand. If you have room to spare, many boys like to have a desk and chair. Of course, it's always good to put a bookshelf in their room to encourage reading. Sometimes you can find bedroom furniture that serves multiple functions.  

Trundle beds work if you have limited space. You can also find storage pieces (such as toy boxes) that double as seating. The most important thing in finding bedroom furniture for your boy is to pick items that are durable, and items that are neutral enough that they ‘Grow Up with your Son. For example, if you can find a simple wood framed bed, you might prefer that to the racecar model; the racecar model won't last until he gets to college. If you can save money on durable bedroom furniture, you can put that extra cash into accessories. Those are guaranteed to change throughout his adolescence. 

The most important thing to remember when shopping for your Boy's bedroom furniture is communication. Talk to your son, and include him in the process, chances are, this will save you money in the long run.
